What proportions of gases make up air?
78% = Nitrogen, 21% = Oxygen, 0.035% = Carbon dioxide.
1 of 5
What is a catalytic converter?
A catalytic converter regulates and converts a harmful pollutant into another less harmful one.
2 of 5
How has the current atmosphere evolved?
Volcanoes degassed so the early atmosphere consisted of H2O and CO2. H2O condensed into oceans and CO2 dissolved into it. There was an increase in nitrogen (it's inert) and photosynthetic organisms developed - then there was an increase in oxygen.
3 of 5
What do nitrous oxides and sulfur dioxide contribute to?
They make up acid rain, which then kills organisms, acidifies lakes and erodes rocks, such as limestone.
4 of 5
What is maintaining the current amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere?
Processes like combustion, photosynthesis and respiration maintain the level of carbon dioxide. But human activities, such as excessive combustion of fossil fuels and deforestation, are polluting the atmosphere.

Hi, If you needed to remove salt stains from seats, If you go to the beach often, you know how salt stains on carpet and seats struggle. Salt can be transferred in many other ways, too. Shoes, boots and bags collect road salt and salt residue on sidewalks, which leave white stains on carpet and car seats.
