What is a Tangent?
The tangent is a line that touches a single point on the circumference of a circle.
1 of 9
What angle does the tangent and the radius meet at?
90 degrees.
2 of 9
In a test how will an isosceles triangle be known without being marked?
If two of the sides of the triangle are the radius of the triangle, then they are the same length.
3 of 9
True or false, the angle at the the centre of a circle is half of the angle on the circumference when the angles come from the same two points?
False, the angle at the centre is double the angle at the circumference.
4 of 9
What is always the size of the angle in a semicircle that is subtended from two ends of the diameter?
90 degrees.
5 of 9
True or false, Angles in the same segment are always the same on the circumference when the angles are subtended from the same points?
True.
6 of 9
What do opposite angles in a cyclic quadrilateral add up to?
180 degrees.
7 of 9
True or false, tangents drawn from the same outside point are different lengths.
False, they are the same length.
8 of 9
What other angle is equal to the angle between a tangent and a chord equal to?
The angle in the opposite segment on the circumference subtended from either end of the chord.
