what is an acute injury?
A sudden injury caused by a specific impact or traumatic event where sharp pain is immediately felt. e.g sprained ankle.

it is often referred to as an over-use injury .e.g shin splints.

the medical term for tennis elbow.

What is an ECG?
It stands for elecrocardiogram - a machine hat where electrodes ae placed onto the players chest and wires connect to the ECG machine and a prinout is produced of the hearts electrical activity.

What is an active stretch?
When a stretched position is held by the contraction of an agonist muscle

What is a passive stretch?
Uses external force to help the sretched position.

What is a static stetch?
When the muscle is held in a stationar position for 10 seconds or more.

What is a ballistic stetch?
Uses swinging and bouncing movements

It is the use of cold temperatures to treat an injury.

What is deep vein thrombosis?
A blood clot in one of the deep veins in the body.

It includes tendons, ligaments, muscles, nerves and blood vessels.

What is Fascia?
It is a layer of fibrous connective tissue which surrounds the muscle or group of muscle.

what is Oedema?
It is a build up of fluid which causes swelling.

What does the term Non-REM sleep mean?
It means theres no rapid eye movement. It consists of 3 stages of sleep which get progessivey deeper.
