- transabdominal CVS - tanscervical CVS

How is transabdominal CVS performed?
Transabdominal- a hollow needle is insertated through the abdmen and placenta - cells are taken- lab for analysis

How is transcervical CVS performed?
- a tube or forceps are insertaed through the cervix - forceps or tube take a sample of cells from placenta - lab for analysis

Why is CVS done?
Can detect genetic conditions such as Down's or Edwards Syndrome

What if results are negative?
Can be fully prepared for arrival of baby or consider termination
