Each psychosexual stage involves the libido (sexual drives), which focuses on one area of the body.

What is the Oral Stage? What age does it develop? Where is the focus of libido?
Age: Birth – 18 months. Focus of libido is the mouth. The mouth is the main focus. The child is being breastfed and are passive, receptive and dependent.

Events from previous stages are repressed into the unconscious.

Age: Puberty and Adolescence Adult personality has developed. There is an interest in the opposite sex.

Fixations in the Genital Stage?
Repressed fixations from previous stages may start to cause problems. They will become a well-rounded adult if all previous stages were resolved successfully.
