What is redox short for? What does it therefore mean?
Reduction-oxidation. Therefore, its the equations for oxidation and reduction.
1 of 10
What is oxidation? What is reduction?
Oxidation is the lose of electrons while reduction is the gain.
2 of 10
What is oxidation states?
In an ionic compound, it simply tells us how many electrons it has lost or gained compared with the element in its uncombined state.
3 of 10
What is every element in its uncombined state?
oxidation state of 0
4 of 10
What should a compound always equal if a charge sign is not on it?
0
5 of 10
What is Hydrogens oxidation state? Unless?
+1 unless in metal hydrides where it is -1
6 of 10
Group 1? 2? 3?
