Chemistry - Rate of reaction

?
What are the two way the rate of reaction can be measured?
The rate at which a recatant is used up or the rate at which a product is formed.
1 of 12
Whate are the factors of the rate of reaction?
Temperature, concentration, pressure of reacting gases, surface area of reating solids, use of catalysts.
2 of 12
Ho wdo you measure the rate of raection?
The mass of a substance is measured with a balance scale and the volume of a gas is measured with a gas syringe.
3 of 12
How is the rate of reaction calculated?
Amount of reactand used or amount of product formed devided by time taken.
4 of 12
What must occur for a chemical reaction to happen?
The reactant particles must collide and with enough energy.
5 of 12
What the name of the minimum needed for particles to react?
Activation energy.
6 of 12
What happens when the concentration of a reactant increases or the the pressure of the reacting gas is increased?
There are more reactant particles in the same volume, there is a graeater chance of particles colliding so the rate of reaction increases.
7 of 12
What happens when the solid reactant is broken down into small pieces?
It's surafce area is icreased, more particles are exposed to the other reactant, there is a greater cance of particle colliding so the rate of reaction increases.
8 of 12
What happens when the temperature is increased?
The reactant particles move quickley, more particles have the activation energy or greater, the particles collide more and more of the collisions result in a reaction so the rate of reation incraeses.
9 of 12
What does a catalyst do and how?
They increase the rate of reaction without been used up. They do this by lowering the activation energy needed so more collisions result in a reaction.
10 of 12
Cn all reactions use the same type if catalyst?
No
11 of 12
Why are catalysts important in industry?
They reduce cost.

Useful information, but needs a little bit of spell checking. Otherwise, very helpful, thank you.
