What is smelting?
Extraction of copper by reduction of carbon
4 of 8
What is a native metal?
A metal that is not combined to any other elements because it is so unreactive.
5 of 8
What is the order of the reactivity series based on?
The order is arranged from their reactions with oxygen, water, dilute acid and displacement reactions.
6 of 8
How is iron extracted in the Blast Furnace?
Iron is extracted from iron oxide ore (Haematite) using coke(cheap form of carbon) and limestone to remove impurities known as '****'.
