Chemistry 2 -Notes

?
Chemical Bonding
When two or more elements react together compounds are formed. They are formed either by sharing or transferring electrons from the outer shell to achieve a stable electronic configuration .
1 of 4
what is covalent bonding?
When non-metals atoms joined together by sharing electrons.
2 of 4
what is ionic bonding?
the oppositely charged ions attract each other. non-metals+metals=ionic bonding
3 of 4
Ionic Bonding
When metal atoms react with non-metal atoms they produce ionic compounds. The non-metal atoms gains electrons to form negative ions. The metal atoms loses electrons to form positive ions.
