What is salt?
A salt is a compound formed when some or all of the hydrogen in an acid is replaced by a metal (or by an ammonium ion). For example, potassium nitrate, KNO_(3) (from nitric acid).

Describes a hydrocarbon that contains as many hydrogen atoms as possible in each molecule.
