What is complete combustion?
More energy is released for all of the carbon atoms to burn, to form co2. CH4 + O2 --> CO2 + H2O
1 of 10
What is incomplete combustion?
Where there isn't enough energy to burn hydrocarbons. This isn't good because it releases carbon monoxide, which is poisonous and soot, which damaged the lungs if inhaled. Ch4 + O2 --> (CO + H2O)(CO+C+H2O)(C+H2O)

What is cracking?
Cracking is the process to break up large hydrocarbons into smaller molecules as it is used for fuel so it makes it more efficient as fuel has a large demand. It can be formed into polymers.
3 of 10
What is the symbol equation for cracking?
C10H22 --> c5H12+C3H6+C2H4. This requires heat and a catalyst.
4 of 10
Why is nail varnish insoluble in water?
The molecules of the nail varnish have strong intermolecular forces. They are strongly attracted to themselves than the attraction between the water and nail varnish molecules. So therefore, they do not form a solution.
5 of 10
What is the balanced symbol equation for sodium hydrocarbonate?
2NAaHCO --> Na2CO3 = Co2 + H2O(Sodium hydrocarbonate--> Sodium carbonate + carbon dioxide + water)
6 of 10
Information about kinetic energy of particles.
Gas particles have a high kinetic energy as they move rapidly. The hotter they are, the faster they move. Liquid particles have a less kinetic energy as they are weakly attracted to each other.
7 of 10
Volatile Liquids
Volatile liquids evaporate liquids. They change rapidly from a liquid to gas. The forces between the particles are weak so the forces overcome easily, but the particles with enough energy escape from the liquid.

What is the composition of the present day atmosphere?
Nitrogen- 78.084%. Carbon dioxide- 0.035%. Argon- 0.934%. Oxygen- 20.947%

What are the five properties that a perfume should have?
1. They evaporate easily(so it reaches the nose). 2.Non toxic.3.Unreactive with water. 4. Shouldn't irritate the skin. 5.Should be insoluble in water.
