20 of 45
What is Reduction?
When a substance loses oxygen but gains electrons

How do you make a salt with a soluble base?
f the base dissolves in water, you need to add just enough acid to make a neutral solution - check a small sample with universal indicator paper - then evaporate the water. You get larger crystals if you evaporate the water slowly.
22 of 45
How do yo make a salt with an insoluble base?
Copper oxide, and other transition metal oxides or hydroxides, do not dissolve in water. If the base does not dissolve in water, you need an extra step. You add the base to the acid until no more will dissolve and you have some base left over (called

What is the test called for Hydrogen?
Squeaky Pop test
25 of 45
Why are Carbon and Hydrogen in the Reactivity Series?
Carbon is used to extract metal underneath it in the series because it is cheaper and easily found. Hydrogen is used it will extract metals less reactive then it and it will not react with dilute metals.

What is a Displacement Reaction?
it is reaction where we separate a metal from an ore.Or when a more reactive metal is used to separate a less reactive metal from its compound.
