What happens to the enzyme in the human body when the temperature rises above 37 degrees celsius?
The rate of enzyme-controlled reactions falls. High temperatures denature enzymes. A denatured has a different shape; they can't lock onto the substrate. Therefore it doesn't speed up the reaction.
