Becomes the historical present. We learn about Victor's childhood and his love of alchemy, and looks up to Albertus Mangus. He sees a tree get struck by lightning

Elizabeth catches Scarlett Fever and recovers, however Caroyln- Victor's mother (who was nursing Elizabeth back to help) contracts it and dies. She tells Victor her wants him and Elizabeth to marry. He goes to uni and meets Krempe- then Waldman .

Engrossed by his studies, Victor barely writes home. He starts to obsess over reincarnation and collects body parts that he digs up from graves.

The creation scene. The moster is ugly so Victor runs. He meets Henry. Victor becomes ill and Henry nurses him back to health. When he is well, Henry gives Victor letters from Elizabeth

Elizabeth writes to Victor about Justine- his mothers replacement. Him and Henry go for a walk

News of Williams death reaches Victor. He goes to Geneva and walks round the woods. He sees the creation. Justine is accused of Williams deatyh, though Victor and Elizabeth know she's innocent.

Justine confesses so she wont go to hell and is hanged. Victor feels bad.

Victor feels suicidal. Victor's father takes the family to Belrive. Victor walks around Chamounix and is astounded at it's beauty.

Victor goes to the sublime Montavert and sees the monster. We hear the Creation speak for the first time. Victor curses him before being persuaded to go to the Creation's cave and listen to his story.

Chapter 11
The Creations tells of his confusion upon being created and how, after multiple people fled from him on sight, he decided to isolate himself.

Chapter 12
He observes the DeLacey fanily and tries to help them through their misfortune from afar. He teaches himself English through them.

Chapter 13
Safie moves into the DeLacey family and perfects reading and writing. His view of Felix and Safie made him realise his own lonliness.

The monster tells the story of the DeLacey family

Chapter 15
The Creation reads Paradise Lost and believes that it is factual and relates to it. He also read Victors papers and becomes disgusted with the circumstances under which he was created. He tries to befriend DeLacey, but is found and driven away.

Due to this reaction the Creation swears revenge on all of mankind, especially Victor. We learn that the Creation killed William and says that he would like a companion

The Creation says that it is his right to have a female companion. After first refusing, Victor agres, as the Creation says hewill not be compelled to kill. The Creation also says that he will keep an eye on Victor and will know when he is done.

Victor contemplates the creation of a new monster and realises he will have to go to England to get the information. Him and Clearval arrange a two year tour.

Victor leaves Clerval in Scotland whilst he goes to the Orkney Islands to begin work on his new monster.

Chapter 20
Victor contemplates his choice to build a second monster in fear of creating a "race of devils". He destorys his work and the monster vows revenge. He gets lost at shore disposing of the monster and upon landing is under suspicion of murder.

Chapter 21
He sees the body and discovers that it is Henry Cleerval. He becomes ill for two months and wakes up still in prison. Alphonse visits him and Vistor is found innocent of the

Victor rests in Paris and then arrives home. Victor and Elizabeth get married.

Victor begins to search the house, then hears Elizabeth's screams, and realises she was who the monster was after. He returns to tell his father, who dies of grief. He decides to devote the rest of his life to killing the monster.

Chapter 24
Victor leaves Geneva and tracks the monster. He ends up in the north and meets Walton.

Walton, in continuation
Just before they leave to return to England, Victor dies and the Creation returns and cries over his dead body. He describes his regret to Walton and informs him that without Victor he has no use. He leaves the ship and kills himself
