Why is RAM primary storage and not secondary storage
RAM temporarily stores data that is being used at a given time. The contents of RAM can be changed and are lost when the computer is turn off. Data which is lost when the computer is turned off is called volatile memory.

Hard Disk Drive- Most common way of storing data, it can be internal or external. Disadvantage- move parts constantly and this could result in it breaking. Advantages- high transfer rate and also a very high storage capacity

A USB is a portable device for storing small documents. it is very cheap and lighweight, and there arent any moving parts so it is reliable. However it can be easily lost and there is a smaller capacity

A solid state hard drive is more reliable than a magnetic hard disk ad there aren't any moving parts

DVD-ROM- data already written on it DVD-R- is a blank cd that can be written on once DVD-RW- is a blank cd that can be written on many times
