Rational Numbers 16.1
Rational number are written as fractions. With rational fractions it has to be transferred to a decimal, the decimal can be two types: terminating decimals and recurring decimals.

Terminating decimal (finite number of digits) example - 1/4 is 0.25
Recurring decimal (digit or block of digits that repeat) example 1/3 is 0.333333...

To find the decimal from the fraction you divide the numerator by the denominator.
For example: 9/16 is 9 divided by 16 is 0.5625 and 7/40 is 7 divided by 40 is 0.175

Terminating decimals into fractions. You take the numerator as the digits seen, denominator ow many times its been divided then smplify.
Example: 0.23 has 2 decimal places so it has to have 2 zeros so 0.23 is 23/100

Recurring decimals into fractions. You need to use algebra.
Example (page 15 of yellow book)

The reciprocal of any number is 1 divided by the number.
Example: The reciprocal of 2 is 1 divided by 2 so 1/2
