it holds together many of the crucial components of a computer, including the central processing unit (CPU), memory and connectors for input and output devices

commonly referred to as the "brains" of a computer, responsible for executing a sequence of stored instructions called a program

What is the purpose of RAM?
contains instructions that are built in during manufacture, so that when it is inside your computer it is READ ONLY, therefore when the computer boots up it loads instructions from the ROM but can't have data added to it

Which is smaller; Netbook or Laptop? Why?
Netbook, because laptops use traditional hard disk to store the operating system, applications and data, whereas netbooks use flash memory which means don't have as much storage capacity but are lighter

What is the difference between a PDA and a smartphone?
PDAs are used to simplify schedules, contacts, and note taking but smart phones can do all this while adding a mobile phone’s features

Smartphone can make calls, texts, surf the Internet, send emails and download apps

it is unique; it maintains the security of your account; only YOU can access your account

What can you do when your software freezes?
freezing is when your computer stops responding to software commands. a) you can open the task manager- Ctrl+Alt+Del, b) follow instructions given in an error message, c) delete unnecessary files

What can you do when you run out of storage space?
a) unnecessary files should be deleted, b) files can be archived, c) removable memory can also be used, i.e. USB

Why should you unistall software instead of deleting it?
Simply deleting an application that has been installed in Windows can leave a lot of loose ends behind in the file system and Windows' Registry

Pull the jammed paper out, make sure no scraps of paper are stuck in the printer and make sure the print carriage can move freely
