What is a Generation File?
Involves storage of several of the most recent versions of a master file. They are useful if one version is corrupted.

What is Data Collision?
It occurs when two sets of data are detected on a network simultaneously. Once detected, the computer waits for a short amount of time and then resends.

What is Multiplexing?
Where several independent data sources are combined to be sent along a single route to a single destination.

What is rounding?
Rounding is when a number is approximated to the nearest whole number.

What is Truncating?
Truncating is when the number is approximated to the whole, nearest to 0.

What is a recursive algorithm?
It is one which calls itself and it must also have a terminating condition. It is often used when dealing with Random Access Files.

What is a Foreign Key?
It is a primary key from one table which is included in another. It is used to form links between tables.

BNF is used to describe syntax/grammar rules of a computer language.

What is a CASE tool?
It is a computer program used to design and develop a computer application. It assists with design and provides a data dictionary.

A break point allows the programmer to halt execution in order to ascertain the value of variables at that point.

It lists the values of a variable at a specific point in execution.
