how are sperm cells specialised?
long tail + streamlined head to help it swim to the egg, lots of mitochondria to provide energy needed, carries enzymes to digest through the egg membrane
1 of 5
how are nerve cells specialised?
long + have branched connections at their end to connect to other nerve cekks and form a network through the body so they can carry electrical signals
2 of 5
how are muscle cells specialised?
long so they have space to contract, lot of mitochondria to generate energy needed for contraction
3 of 5
how are root hair cells specialised?
'hairs' give the plant a big surface area for absorbing water and mineral ions from the soil
4 of 5
how are phloem and xylem cells specialised?
the cells are long and joined end to end, oxylem are holly in the centre and phloem have very few sub-cellular structure so that stuff can flow through them
