Reduces heat loss therefore meaning there is a lower energy demand

How are solar panels used in BedZED?
There are 777m^2 of solar panels which provide for 11% of the energy demand, using a renewable energy source is obviously a big plus for sustainability

How is usage of cars discouraged?
Yellow lines are on streets throughout BedZED which prevents parking and therefore discourages usage of private transport such as cars.

How does community strength help sustainability?
The community want it to be a success so encourage each other to reduce energy consumption the stronger the community cohesion the more proud residents are so they'll make a greater effort to reach the goal of carbon neutral.
