A simple molecule that is used as the building blocks for the synthesis a polymer

A giant molecule made of many similar repeating subunits joined together

Macromolecule
A large biological molecule

Monosaccharide
A sugar which is soluble in water and has the general formula of (CH2O)n. It is made of one molecule and the three groups are trioxes (3C), pentoses (5C) and hexoses (6C)

Disaccharide
A sugar which consists of two monosaccharides joining together by condensation to form a glycosidic bond
5 of 6
Polysaccharide
A polymer which consists of many monosaccharides joined together by condensation reaction to form glycosidic bonds
