What is capacitance?
Capacitance is the amount of charge that a capacitor can store per unit potential difference across it
1 of 5
What does each symbol mean in C=Q/V
C=Capacitance (Farads), Q=Charge (Coulombs), V=Potential Difference (Volts)
2 of 5
Why aren't capacitors used as batteries?
Because they can only store a tiny amount of charge, making it impractical to make a capacitor on the scale of a battery
3 of 5
What does each symbol mean in E=(1/2)(QV)
E=Energy Stored (Joules), Q=Charge (Coulombs), V=Potential Difference (Volts)
4 of 5
What is a dielectric material?
An insulating material that separates the two conducting plates of a capacitor
