What is predestination?
Predestination is the idea that God choses your social status and chooses whether or not you go to heaven, however only few were chosen to go to heaven which created anxiety.

What is ascetic ideal?
Ascetic Ideal is the idea that working hard would provide a solution to anxiety. Success in work increased the probability that you would be chosen to go to heaven. Early Calvinists led strict lives and only received very simple pleasures.

What did Weber say about ascetic ideal?
Weber said ascetic ideal created the protestant work ethic of disciplined hard work. Calvinism supports capitalism and as a result of this indirectly brought about social change.
