What are the properties of caesium and rubidium?
They react vigorously with water. Hydrogen gas is given off. The metal reacts with water to form an alkali - the hydroxide of the metal.

By knowing the melting points, boiling points, appearance and conductivity of lithium, sodium and potassium.

Because they all have one electron in their outer shell

What is formed when atoms of alkali metals react?
A full outer shell, to create a stable electronic structure. An ion, which has one more positive charge in its nucleus than negative electrons in the shells, so it becomes a positive ion

What makes an alkali metal more reactive?
the easier it is for an atom to lose one electron

When electrons are lost.

If lithium, sodium or potassium is present in a compound.
