What is the earth's crust?
The thin, outer layer of solid rock (approx. 20km deep)

What is the lithosphere?
The crust and upper part of the mantle and is made up of tectonic plates.

What is the lithosphere like?
Cold and rigid and it is over 100km thick in some places

What is the mantle?
The mantle is the solid section between the crust and the core

What happens in the mantle?
It is relatively cool and solid near the crust but as you get deeper, the temperature rises and it begins to flow very slowly.

The core?
The core makes up approx. half of the earths radius. The inner core is solid but the outer core is liquid.
