Mantle
Molten layer of the earth between the core and crust.
1 of 35
Continental plate
Less dense plates which hold the continents
2 of 35
Oceanic plate
More dense plates which hold the oceans
3 of 35
Lithosphere
Outer layer of the Earth which is made of the crust and the part of the mantle that lies underneath.
4 of 35
Convection currents
Movement in the mantle caused by heat. This movement causes the tectonic plates on the crust to move.
5 of 35
Subduction
When an oceanic plate collides with a continental plate and the more dense oceanic plate sinks below the continental plate.
6 of 35
Igneous rock
Type of rock form as magma cools
7 of 35
Reinforced concrete
Concrete with steel rods or steel meshes running through it

A soluble base
30 of 35
Indicators
Substances which change colour when pH changes
31 of 35
Fertilisers
Contain essential elements to increase plant growth
32 of 35
Eutrophication
When water ways become too rich with nutrients (from fertilisers) which allows algae to grow wildly and use up all of the oxygen
33 of 35
Nitrogen fertiliser
A fertiliser that contains nitrogen
34 of 35
Essential elements
Three elements: nitrogen, potassium and phosphorous that are essential for the growth of plants
