What does ionic bonding hold together? In what?
It holds oppsitely charged ions together in giant structures.
1 of 6
What is the giant structures format?
It is regular as all of the ions are packed neatly together.
2 of 6
What is attracted in all directions?
Forces of attraction are in all directions.
3 of 6
How is an ion held in place?
Each ion in the lattice or giant structure is surronded by ions oppositly charged so is held firmly in place.
4 of 6
What does the ration depend on?
The charges of the atom (the small number next to the element)
5 of 6
How can we represent atoms and ions?
Dot and cross diagrams.
