monomer?
small molecules that can be reacted to produce polymers.
3 of 8
polymer?
very large molecules, some of wich make up plastic.
4 of 8
polymerisation
alkenes joining together without producing another substance.
5 of 8
name the properties of plastics
easily moulded - waterproof - on-biodegradable - light - flexible - heat insulator - tough.
6 of 8
Gore-Tex
a breathable material made from ylon. allows perspiration (water vapour) to escape whilst preventing rain to escape.
