Autocratic
This type of leadership entails strict discipline and orders that must be obeyed. This was normal about a century ago. It is effective when tasks must be done quickly and accurately. However, power is with the manager. Communication is one-way, down.

Paternalistic
Entrepreneur stills has authority and takes decisions but also have a kindly and supportive approach to employees. Paternalistic leaders are more likely to say 'please and thank you' whereas an autocratic leader wouldn't.

Democratic
Democratic leaders involve their employees in formulating strategy and making choices, however they are still the ones to make the ultimate choices and decisions. Employees of democratic leaders are more likely to feel respected and valued.

Laissez-faire
Very laidback. Employees are left to do things their own way. Maximum independence/ responsibility for each worker. Managers/ employees have freedom to do what they thinks is best

Theory X Managers
Average worker is lazy and dislikes work- workers need to be controlled & directed. Centralized organizations and exercise of authority.

Theory Y Managers
Most people enjoy work. Workers will take responsibly and organize themselves. Decision making can be delegated.
