The state of peace

What are the four circles in the Wheel of Life?
The first circle is the three root poisons. The second circle is the six different existences. The third circle is the six realms. The forth circle is dependant origination.

What holds the Wheel of Life?
The lord of death, Maya/Yama. He has ultimate control over the fate of those who live in Samsara.

What is outside the Wheel of Life?
The Buddha is outside the wheel and he symbolises freedom.

What are the three root poisons?
Greed; Hatred:Ignorance

What are the three root poisons represented as?
Rooster; Snake: Pig

What action is the three root poisons doing and what does it mean?
They are shown trying to eat each other, representing how greed, hatred and ignorance feed on one another.

What is a metaphorical interpretation of the three root poisons?
Hatred, Greed and Ignorance are the cause of all suffering. Our attachment to the way things are makes it hard for us to leave these poisons behind.

What does following the Eight-fold Path do for us?
By following the Eight-fold path, we gain more self-control and this therefore lessens our attachment of the three poisons, so we can escape Samsara.

Why does Samsara continuously turn?
As the three poisons in the first circle causes it to keep turning as we are attached to the three poisons.
