What was the aim of the study?
To see if there was an association between delinquency and maternal deprivation.

Maternal Deprivation affected emotional adjustment - can have long term affects on child. Once the bond was broken it could not be reversed.

What are the strengths of the study?
He used a matched control group so findings could be compared. He used this study to support his Maternal deprivation hypothesis. Case histories of children collected. Triangulation

What are the weaknesses of the study?
Criticised for not having a normal contol group, both groups were attending the clinic. Study was correlational - no cause and effect. Other variables could have affected attatchments.
