When was the Second Boer War fought?
1899 - 1902

Who was the war between?
The British Empire, the Boers living in a part of South Africa named The Transvaal and the Orange Free State.

Why did it start?
Britain rejected Transvaal ultimatum (Ultimatum: all disputes between the two states be settled by arbitration; British Troops on the borders be withdrawn and troops bound for South Africa by ship should not disembark). Britain wanted gold.

British victory and annexation of both republics by the British Empire.

Coalition of Conservative and Liberal Unionist. Salisbury was Prime Minister.
