What did Blitzkreig rely on ?
Speed, surprise and coordination of the tanks, infantry,artillery and airpower.

Early Stages of blitzkrieg
Once a strategic target had been selected, Stuka dive bombers with sirens would strike fear into civilians.The planes would soften up the enemy and destroy rail, communication centres and other major rail links.

The major role of the Stuka dive bombers
The planes would also destroy air bases and runways preventing planes from taking off. Moreover the airforce attacked roads to spread panic and stop enemy reienforcements and supplies. Panic caused civilians to leave clogging up roads stopping aid.

Role of Paratroopers
To sieze vital bridges and destroyed others. But in seizing the bridges it allowed supporting troops,a raillery and tanks to come forward from behind the lines to advance taking vital positions.

Role of Panzer tanks
Germany concentrated their tanks to small areas to use them to maximum effect. The seizing of the bridges allowed the tank regiments to move froward and caused greater damage.

New technology used in Blitzkreig
The panzer tanks were more manoeuvrable and fats allowing them to advance quicker. The Stuka's were fitted with sirens to strike fear into civilians. Also new brakes allowed them to pull out of dives quickly allowing them to dive lower
