Transmits info to the CNS from the outside world and transmits info from the CNS to muscles which directs them to act.

The Autonomic Nervous System and the Somatic Nervous System

What is the role of the Autonomic Nervous System?
Governs vital functions in the body, such as breathing, heart rate and stress responses.

What is the role of the Somatic Nervous System?
Controls Muscle Movement and receives info from sensory receptors.

What are the two divisions of the Autonomic Nervous System?
The sympathetic and parasympathetic branch.
