Newtons 1st Law
A body continues in a state of rest or uniform velocity until acted upon by an extarnal force. For example in football the ball will sit on the penalty spot until the force from the boot acts upon it.
1 of 6
Newtons 2nd Law
When a force acts upon an object the rate of change of momentum experienced by the object is proportional to the size and direction of the force. For example in football how hard the ball is kicked will directly result in how far it travels.
2 of 6
Newtons 3rd Law
For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. For example in football as the ball hits the cross bar there is a force form the bar acting on the ball sending it the other way.
3 of 6
General Motion
Is a combination of linear and angular motion. For example a 100m wheelchair race the whole chair is moving in a straight line but the arms and wheels are moving around an axis for the arms it is the shoulder joint.
4 of 6
Linear Motion
When a body moves in a line straight or curved with all parts moving in the same direction at the same speed. For example a tobbogan or javlin throw.
5 of 6
Angular motion
Is when a body or part of it moves in a circle or part of a circle about a point called the axis of rotation. For example a gymnast on bars where the bars are the axis.
