What is the independant variable?
The thing you change.
2 of 7
What is the dependant variable?
The thing you measure.
3 of 7
What is the controlled variable?
The thing you keep the same.
4 of 7
How are exchange surfaces adapted to maximise the effectivness?
1) They are thin so have a short diffusion path. 2) Large surface area so lots of substances can diffuse at once. 3) Lots of blood vessels to get stuff in and out quickly(animal surfaces) 4) Ventilation
5 of 7
How is the leafs structure adapted to allow gases diffuse in and out of the cell?
1) Carbon Dioxide diffuses out of the stomata 2) Oxygen and Water vapour diffuse out of the stomata 3) Guard cells contol opening and closing of the stomata. 4) Flattened shape 5) Air spaces increase surface area
6 of 7
What is the best weather condition for evapouration to take place?
Hot, dry and windy.
