?
Homoestasis means keeping your internal enviroment constant. It inlcudes monitoring/controling...?
Waste materials, Body temperature, Water&ion content and Blood glucose levels.
1 of 6
How is the waste product, carbon dioxide, removed from the body?
Produced during respiration. Removed via the lungs when we breath out.
2 of 6
How is the waste product, urea, removed from the body?
Produced in the liver by the breakdown of amino acids. Removed by the kidneys (in urine).
3 of 6
The thermoregulatory centre, in the brain, does what?
1) Monitors/controls body temperature. 2)Receptors that monitor the temperatire of the blood flowing throught the brain. 3) Recieves information from temperature receptors in skin.
4 of 6
If your core body temperature is too high...?
1) Blood vessels widen to increase blood flow and heat loss. 2) Sweat glands release more sweat.
5 of 6
If your core body temperature is too high...?
1) Blood vessels constrict to reduce blood flow and heat loss. 2) Muscles start to 'shiver' causing heat energy to be released by respiration cells.
