What is LDL
a lipoprotein substances (combination of a fat and a protein) which acts as a carrier for cholesterol and fats in the bloodstream.

When a persons diet is not balanced, this could lead to them being over weight or underweight.

Why does a person lose mass?
Because the amount of money given off by food eaten is less than that expended by the body, the body uses your fat supplies instead, therefore losing mass.

What is the metabolic rate?
The rate at which chemical reactions take place in the body.

What factors affect the metabolic rate?
The amount of exercise you do and the proportion of muscle to fat in your body. The metabolic rate may also be affected by inherited factors.
