What is meant by a dipolar molecule?
A molecule that is negative charge on one side and a positive charge on the other
1 of 6
What is cohesion?
Cohesion is the attraction between molecules of the same type (e.g two water molecules). Water molecules are very cohesive because they are dipolar. This helps water to flow making it great for transporting substances.
2 of 6
What type of bond hold monosaccharides together to form a polysaccharide?
Glycosidic bond
3 of 6
Name 2 different polysaccharides that join together to make starch?
Amylose- long unbranched chain. 1-4 glycosidic bonds. Amylopectin- long branched chain. 1-4 and 1-6 glycosidic bonds.

Describe the sturcture of a triglyceride?
One molecule of glycerol and 3 fatty acid tails (made of hydrocarbons which are hydrophobic)
5 of 6
Name the bond that joins fatty acids to glycerol in a triglyceride?
Ester bond
