1) Fossil is an organism that lived a long time ago 2) Fossils show changes over time, older fossils are simpler, fossils simpler than present-day species 3) Fossils have similar features to present-day species

Suggest an explanation for the development of different species in different areas

The population in the different part could have been varied with different alleles. Natural selection could gave acted on the isolated populations. There could have been different environmental conditions e.g. climate, predators, food.
