Name three factors that may affect your resting metabolic rate.
1. Muscle to fat in your body- higher proportion of muscle, higher metabolic rate. 2. Size of person- Bigger the person, higher the metabolic rate. 3.Genetic factors- men have a higher metabolic rate, due to larger proportion of muscle.
8 of 18
What can boost your resting metabolic rate?
Exercise- builds muscle.

16 of 18
Name an inherited factor that affects their metabolic rate.
An underactive thyroid gland, which can lower the metabolic rate and cause obesity.
17 of 18
