What is Photosynthesis?
Photosynthesis is the process that produces food in plants. It changes carbon dioxide and water into glucose and oxygen.
1 of 6
Where does photosynthesis happen?
It takes place in the chloroplasts in green plant cells - they contain pigments like chlorophyll that absorb light
2 of 6
What does the xylem carry? What does the phloem carry?
The xylem carries water. The phloem carries sugars (food).
3 of 6
How are plants good at photosynthesis?
They use food from the ground. Wide structure, big surface area.
4 of 6
What is the equation for photosynthesis?
Carbon dioxide +water - glucose + oxygen
5 of 6
What is the palisade tissue?
Where most photosynthesis takes place as it has the most chloroplasts.
