protein
2 of 14
Whats our main source of energy
carbohydrates
3 of 14
Which provides her with the most energy
fat
4 of 14
Metabolic rate
the rate of chemical reactions in your cells. Determined by gender, amount of exercise you do, inheritance, proportion of muscle to fat
5 of 14
Unsaturated fats
seeds, peanut butter, olives, nuts. Helps to keep cholesterol levels under control and healthy heart
6 of 14

high density lipoprotien
9 of 14
Pathogens
microorganisms thata cause disease
10 of 14
Bacteria
single celled living organisms. only some are harmful (pathogens) others useful
11 of 14
Viruses
much smaller than bacteria. cause diseases in all living organisms even bacteria
12 of 14
How do pathogens cause disease?
they need to get inside the body, then reproduce rapidly. Bacteria often produce toxins and can diirectly damage cells. Viruses rarely make toxins but take over cells, destroying them.
