What's in the plant cell?
Vacuole, ribosomes, nucleus, cytoplasm, mitochondria, cell wall, cell membrane, chloroplast.
1 of 21
What's in animal cell?
Mitochondria, nucleus, ribosome, cell membrane, cytoplasm.
2 of 21
What is the nucleus function?
Controls the cell's activities and contains genetic information.
3 of 21
What is the cytoplasm function?
Location of many chemical reactions within the cell.
4 of 21
What is the cell membrane function?
Controls what passes in and out of the cell.
5 of 21
What is the mitochondria function?
Site of aerobic respiration.
6 of 21
What is the cell wall function?
Gives shape and supports the cell.
7 of 21
What is the vacuole function?
Stores sugar and salt solution.
8 of 21
What is the chloroplast function?
Where photosynthesis occurs and sugar is made.
9 of 21
What is the ribosomes function?
Where proteins are made from amino acids.
10 of 21
Why do potato/onion cells not have a chloroplast?
Chloroplast traps sunlight bu onions grow underground so they won't photosynthesise.
11 of 21
What's in a yeast cell?
Vacuole, mitochondria, cell membrane, nucleus, ribosomes, cytoplasm, cell wall.
12 of 21
How is a yeast cell like a plant cell?
They both dont have plasmids. They both have a cell wall and a vacuole.
13 of 21
How is a yeast cell like an animal cell?
It has the same cell structure except from the chloroplast.
14 of 21
What's in a bacterial cell?
Capsule, cell wall, cell membrane, cytoplasm, flagellum, ribosome, plasmid, DNA, pili.
15 of 21
What is the capsule function?
Provides extra protection.
16 of 21
What is the pili function?
Allows them to attach to another bacteria to catch food.
17 of 21
What is the plasmid function?
Contains extra DNA.
18 of 21
What is the flagella function?
Helps movement.
19 of 21
How is DNA stored different in a bacteria cell compared to the other cells?
A bacteria cell doesn't have a nucleus like other cells, however it still has DNA in it.
20 of 21
How is a plant cell wall different to bacterial and fungal cell walls?
Plant cell walls are made of cellulose, whereas bacterial and fungals cell wall is made from varied structure and chemical composition.
