What do Red Blood Cells do?
Carry oxygen from the lungs to around the rest of the body.
2 of 16
What adaptations do Red Blood Cells have?
1. They are biconcave meaning they have more service area. 2. they have a red pigment called haemoglobin that binds with oxygen. 3. they have no nucleus so they can carry more oxygen.

What do White blood Cells do?
either form antibodies to fight infection, others make antitoxins, and finally, some engulf and kill the harmful microorganisms

What do platelets do?
is the skin has been cut the platelets are used to clot the blood so that the person does not lead to death.

What do arteries do?
carry blood away from the heart to organs of the body

what characteristics do capillaries have?
walls are one cell thick, tiny vessel with small lumen

What do veins do?
carry blood away from the organs to the heart
12 of 16
what type of blood does veins carry?
deoxygenated blood
13 of 16
What characteristics do veins have?
no pulse, relatively thin walls, have valves to prevent back flow and have a large lumen

Explain the double circulation system.
one transport system carries blood from your heart to your lung where, oxygen and carbon dioxide is exchanged and brought back to the heart. the other transport system carried blood from the heart to all around the body.
