What is Descrete Variation
Discrete Varition is when organisms either have or do not have a feature and so the organisms can be placed into distinct groups.
1 of 14
Continuous Variation
Continuous Variation is when the feature varies from one extreme to another for all the organisms in the species.
2 of 14
Growth
Living things grow to increase in size. Animals stop growing when they become adults. Plants grow all their life.
3 of 14
Movement
Animals can move from pace to place. Plants do not move about but they can still move some of their parts.
4 of 14
Feeding
Animals take in food. Plants make their own food. Food contains energy.

Respiration
Respiration is a chemical reaction that takes place inside cells where food molecules are broken down to release energy needed to stay alive.
6 of 14
Sensitivity
Living things are aware of their surroundings and react to things around them.
7 of 14
Reproduction
Living things reproduce to make new organisms like themselves.
8 of 14
Excretion

9 of 14
Tissue
A group of similar cells that work together to carry out a specific function to form a tissue such as blood or nerves.
10 of 14
Organs
Several types of tissue make up an organ which has a particular function.
11 of 14
Systems
Selected organs together for a system which carries out one of the many life processes.
12 of 14
Organisms
Organs and systems are coordinated to form an organism capable of carrying out all of life’s processes
