What is the purpose of bile?
Bile breaks down fats so that lipase can digest them more easily and quickly. They do this by making the fat molecules in to smaller pieces with more surface area.

What are he adaptations of the small intestine and why are they helpful?
Larger surface area is helpful because it make the process quicker. Thin membrane, because there is less distance to travel, so it is quicker. Rich blood supply, because then the nutrients can get into the bloodstream more quickly.
