biology 1 genes, chromosomes and DNA

?
what is the nucleus?
most cells in your body have a nucleus and its the nucleus that containst your genetic material, these are arranged into chromosomes.
1 of 6
what is a chromosome?
the human cell nucleus contains 23 pairs of chromosomes, each one is a very long molecule of DNA thats coiled up.
2 of 6
what is a gene?
is a short length of a chromosome - they control the development of different characteristics eg. hair colour and how and organism functions, they can exist in different versions. each version giving a different form of characteristics.
3 of 6
what are alleles?
