What is the biological approaches explanation of gender?
Believe sex and gender is inter- related. Sex is determined at conception, so is the pattern for gender

Due to different levels of HORMONES - boys higher levels of testosterone, are more aggressive, better at visual-spatial + maths tasks. Females have higher levels of oestrogen - better fine motor skills (e.g.. sewing), language + emotional skills

What is Turner's Syndrome?
FEMALES - XO. Affect 1 in 2,000 births, where females are missing the second X chromosome. No overies, no periods, hardly any breasts, short. Higher verbal ability, lower spatial, maths and visual ability. Difficultly relating to peers

What is Klinefelter's Syndrome?
MALES - XXY. Affects 1 in 500 births. Have an extra X chromosome. Small penis, undescended testes, some breast development at puberty + rounding of contours. Little body hair, long limbs, clumsy, lack of sexual interest; shy, passive, gender confused
