1. What is the intended effect of Seroxat?

  • It inhibits the release of serotonin and provokes an electro-chemical reaction throughout the local nervous system.
  • To prevent serotonin from being reabsorbed and broken down after it has travelled through the synapse, therefore building up levels of serotonin.
  • It counteracts the released enzymes and hence prevents the chemical brake down of Serotonin so can stay within the synaptic space and continue to provoke the neuron
